Food Safety Guidelines/Advice

Food safety is one of the highest priorities for Iqbal Catering. We have a food safety management system that will ensure that our customers receive high quality food that is made according to strict safety standards. We take care about the food we make and we want to ensure that our customers enjoy our food in its best condition. We know from experience that our customers have different needs and in order to ensure that food remains safe after it has left our premises please heed the following guidance.

Our food is prepared fresh and is ready to consume immediately or within a few hours (3 or 4 hours) of release from our premises.

If you do not intend to consume the food within a few hours (3 or 4 hours) you must cool the food and refrigerate at below 8°Centigrade – the following steps are advised to cool food quickly and safely

  • Remove food from the original packaging
  • Put the food into smaller portions or containers
  • Food should be cooled within 3 hours
  • Ensure that the food has dropped to room temperature (Ambient) before placing it in the fridge
  • Food should be covered and placed above any raw meat or raw products in your fridge
  • Do not place hot food in the fridge

We recommend that the food can be kept in refrigeration for a maximum of 3 days.

We recommend that food is then reheated to at least 90°Centigrade or until the product is piping hot (Steam is coming out of the product).

Consume the food immediately after reheating

Any food left-over should be disposed of properly.

Do not refrigerate the food again.

We advise that our food should not be frozen.

We recommend that left over food is not distributed to third parties because of the possibility that food may have become contaminated or may have suffered temperature abuse. If any problems do occur due to food poisoning please be aware you may be liable to being sued by the affected party.

We want you to enjoy our food and keep safe by following the above steps. If you require more specific advice you can contact our Head Office (01274 495 963/ 07974 988 893) and speak to our Food Safety Advisor. If the advisor is not available they will contact you as soon as possible.
